Happy Valentines Day!
This year, instead of the obvious big heart shaped bag, I’m thnking of something more subtle

Not that there is much that is subtle about a super shiny, lipstick red clutch…but if a bag could be sexy, this would be it!
Gathered, and wrapped into a bow, it looks like a gift, but without being obvious or overdone. Definitely the sort of super special bag that makes an outfit, it’s a perfect accessory for the simple little black dress, but bold enough to work with a more casual look of jeans and a great shirt.
Keep your hearts, flowers, and chocolates…my heart belongs to this bag!

Edward Tricomi created this gorgeous ‘do for last week’s J. Mendel show, and it’s simpler than it looks! The look was a classic chignon, turned youthful and modern with a unique oval-braided shape.

I’m not so sure about that little mini ponytail on the top, but the braided chignon is so pretty - an unexpected twist on a classic look. It’s sleek and modern but the braiding adds a romantic touch.

The members of Oxygen’s reality show The Bad Girls Club were on Tyra yesterday, and their bickering pissed off TyTy so much that she got up actually walked off-set. The episode was essentially a continuation of what goes on in the Bad Girls house (lots of screaming, threats and judgmental comments) and the smug, sanctimonious utterances coming out of Neveen’s mouth drove me up a wall. She judged the others’ mothering skills (which she clearly knows nothing about), what they do for a living, and their sex lives. In the clip above, Jennavecia calls Neveen out for eating cat poop in a YouTube video, which Neveen first tries to deny, and then tries to defend. I’ll say one good thing about Neveen however: She actually possesses the power to make Tyra Banks walk away.

I thought I’d follow the post on the bank-breaking Alterna hair masque with something that’s sure to be in everyone’s price range. Pain d’Epices shower gel is part of Yves Rocher’s Jardins de Noel collection, and is inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of gingerbread at Christmas.

My cousin D loves it and gave me a bottle as part of my Christmas gift. It smells delicious and festive thanks to orange, cinnamon and star anise, and produces lots of lather and bubbles without drying my skin out. Seriously, the scent and performance are on the level of a much more expensive shower gel. My only quibble is that the dispenser hole is a little large, which makes the amount of product difficult to control.

Looks like Spring’s pop art hues will carry us into the Fall/Winter season! As an Andy Warhol fan, I’m loving the return of pop art. As seen on the runways at Behnaz Sarafpour, Benjamin Cho, Derek Lam, Malandrino, Alexander Herchcovitch, Richard Chai, and Ruffian pops of colour painted the lids and lips of each model. The key to making these looks wearable for everyday is to use sheer textures and focus on one area of the face.
