We always mean to read Apartment Therapy, but we are lazy. However: We are not stupid, and we’re getting back on the wagon. If we have time for Perez Hilton—whose endorsement of Hillary Clinton, by the way, we actually found quite well reasoned and moving—we have time for Apartment Therapy. Our favorite thing: house tours. If you’re thinking about the wallpaint, it’s time to take a look. Can we just say, for example, that we totallly want to paint our walls the color of the apartment above? See all the details in their house tour, here.

Marios Schwab’s collection for Topshop hasn’t hit the online store yet but luckily, I got myself a dress which is possibly the prettiest incarnation of Schwab. Not known to do pretty pretty, he has incorporated a two tone floral print that from afar looks like a zig zag pattern and has added some safety belts at the front to stamp in that Schwab touch.
With some sheer tights, and my favourite criss-cross strap flats that were such a steal from Brick Lane, I toodled off to the Gucci press conference yesterday at the gigantic new Fifth Avenue flagship, the biggest in the world and managed not to look like a complete fool. I really couldn’t move for Gucci bags as everyone had a different incarnation of a Gucci bag so much so that when I spied a Chanel, I had to gasp a bit. Of course, I couldn’t quite figure out whether it was my ma-hussive black Topshop tote (hey don’t knock it…if it can carry all my shit, I’m taking it, designer or not) or my gremlin ‘Wicked’ tights that was looking a leeetle out of place. More about the store itself later when I was surreally given a tour by the CEO of Gucci, Mark Lee and walking around the store with the lovely Elisabeth of La Coquette and Betsy of Fashion is Spinach and a rather dazed looking Cory Kennedy (no we didn’t exchange numbers….).

Is it weird that when tidbits such as someone’s top ten movies are revealed, you feel like you know that person just a little bit more or at least, by the sort of ’stuff’ (stuff being all that CUL-TURE garb…music, film, art, tv etc…) that person is into says something about them. When I saw the Rodarte girls, Kate and Laura Mulleavy top ten Criterion DVD selection (it is my mission to buy every Criterion DVD in sight…. thanks to Cat Party for the link ), I was intrigued that I possessed 80% of their selection and thus intrigued by their forthcoming collection. The beauty of their site at the moment with the backstage shots of their SS08 collection and that the clothes were a result of being inspired by Japanese manga/anime, only serves to make me even more curious as previously, I didn’t quite understand why there was so much hype being generated about this label. So for their AW08-9 collection, they remain inspired by Japan but moving it to a darker realm of Japanese horror/slasher movies and even as I’m typing this, it seems cliched that they should produce bloody scarlet red, white and black streaked dresses yet it doesn’t look it….

I just love the sketches M.A.C. does for their trend report for each season! These would make great art pieces. Check out Day 1 - 4 on the M.A.C. Pro site to see the beauty looks the pro artists created for each show. I’ll post Day 5 - 9 later this week!

![…But This Red Gown is Not [Snarkstress]](http://citypeoplefashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/159979.jpg)
There’s no denying Girl looks good in red, but the cut of Heidi Klum’s dress baffles me. It’s asymmetrical, fine, I get it. But the buttons on this thing make it look like a junior highschooler’s Home Ec project gone bad. Project Runway, my ass. How ’bout Project Hack Job instead.
Heidi, dahling, stick to your sexy ways from the ‘07 Emmy’s. That’s the way we love you, presh, just remember that.

![New York Fashion Week : John Varvatos Fall 2008 Collection [She Knows Best - Lifestyle Tips for Guys]](http://citypeoplefashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/159961.jpg)
John Varvatos Fall 2008 collection is clearly an homage to the rocker in you. From the silver tones of the military jackets, ponyskin biker jackets and glossy lacquered peacoats. Although the theme color seemed to have stayed with grey, John Varvatos Fall collection is not somber at all. And like the other designers, Layering is also John Varvatos’ Fall trend.
More of the collection after the fold…

![Super Tuesday: It Isn’t Quite The End Of The Affair [Primary Affections]](http://citypeoplefashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/159960.jpg)
It’s Super Tuesday. Did you vote? Can you vote? Luckily (and despite what some pundits may say) it’s unlikely that the Democratic contest will be decided today, which is good news for the candidates and their unexpected endorsements, like Barack Obama (The Grateful Dead ) and Hillary Clinton (Jenna Jameson). But some are still confused about today’s political process in the first place so we decided to provide a couple of questions (and answers!) after the jump.
Question: Isn’t it usually over by now? Why do I keep hearing that the Republican race is probably going to be over but not the Democratic one? Answer: While the Republicans’ insistence on winner-take-all primaries may result in a definitive front-runner after their 21 contests today, the proportional awarding of delegates designed by the Democratic Party means that neither Clinton nor Obama are likely to come out far ahead in the delegate race in the 22 Democratic contests being held today. >> At Rodarte, Laura and Kate Mulleavy riffed on "Japanese horror films" with agressively studded Louboutin shoes, deathly pale faces, and plenty of blood red.
I admit, before seeing Rodarte in motion — and in person — I was a little confused about the hype surrounding the label. But after seeing the loosely-woven tights, the angora dresses, the punky sugar plum fairies zig zag past, I am converted.

Not many designers can take two such contrasting looks — pretty, pretty princess and Sid Vicious — and make them mesh so well together. It was clear that the girls were still exploring a few elements from Spring: the Degas-esque tutu dresses, the studded shoes, the draped and pleated chiffon dresses, the metallic fitted pants; when I asked Kate about it, she told me they "were just trying to find [their] thing." But by no means were they mired in a past collection — and I look forward to seeing where the whimsical Mulleavy girls go from here.

Oh! We hope you saw Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton last night, because it was fabulous, even if we did turn on The Sarah Connor Chronicles at one point near the end. Anyway: Our favorite moment was when he got all gooey-eyed over Ed Ruscha, so we thought we would put one up here. MJ (not verbatim): "You know, I met Madonna, and, like, she was nice and everything, and I respect her, but when I met Ed Ruscha…." Oooh, we just love it.
Above: Ed Ruscha’s "Bedcrumbs", 1975 (made with blackberry juice on moire!)
