Finsk shoes inspired by the colours of Studio Ghibli and the Moomins by Tove Jansson aka my childhood companion VHS staples?!? Can we say gagging for it all together. What makes it even better is that these shoes are part of Finsk’s new collaboration with Faith which will be available in April. I’ve been a little iffy with their past collaborations with the likes of Olivia Morris and Gil Carvalho as I’ve liked some designs but loathed others. These however get a double yes from me even if I didn’t know Julia Lundsten also is a fan of Studio Ghibli. She has also taken architectural shapes from Alvar Aalto and Eero Saarinen in truly traditional Finsk fashion and applied them to these shoes for Faith. The colours and moods definitely remind me of those aforementioned refreshingly organic and untainted animation.

Yes, it was love at first sweep when my cheek first met Bourjois Blush, but it just wasn’t so with their Wet/Dry Eyeshadow.
I picked up Beige Rose, an antique cream pearl shade. And, while it makes for a subtle brow highlight, any attempts to wear it on the lid have been futile. Barely any powder gets picked-up by even a stiff shadow brush and any color that makes it onto the lid disappears shortly thereafter.

So yesterday was apparently the day of beauty reviews! We spend far more time reading product reviews than we should - and we’ve learned that sometimes, it’s just complete garbage. We haven’t actually LEARNED anything USEFUL yet, which as one can imagine, is really annoying. We’ve seriously been to the Kiehl’s counter 6 times in a month, and returned probably 10 products that we read were good. Jerks.
Here is where our potential new plan comes in. We are not experts, we fully admit this. And everyone can have different experiences. But would it be interesting for us to review products suggested by you, our awesome readers? We’d have to be kind of selective - like we can’t afford to go out and buy a tub of La Mer or whatever the fuck, just to see if it makes our skin feel nice. And we definitely wouldn’t try anything dangerous, like LipoDissolve (as Lovely Friend so desperately wants, and we keep telling him absolutely not). But we’re game to be your guinea pig, if it’d help. Plus, while we are far from scientific, 3 of the 4 people in our immediate family work in science, so we could try to help determine why something works (or doesn’t). We can’t be sure they want to be involved, but you never know.

![Reviewers Are Ambivalent About In Treatment, Just Like They Are About Therapy! [Critical Mass]](http://citypeoplefashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/150571.jpg)
In Treatment, which premieres tonight at 9:30, and will air a new episode every night for the next five weeks. The show follows silver fox Gabriel Byrne, who plays a psychiatrist named Paul Weston. Shows airing Monday through Thursday take place exclusively in Paul’s office, and follow his treatment of a specific character (for instance, every episode that airs on Mondays concerns sessions with Laura, an anesthesiologist who is experiencing a relationship crisis; Tuesday shows focus on Alex, a blustery Navy pilot played by the delicious Blair Underwood; Friday episodes show Byrne with his therapist, played by Dianne Wiest). Critics are divided about the show — the New York Times calls Treatment “hypnotic,” while the San Francisco Chronicle finds Treatment “profoundly boring.” The rest of the critics analyze the Treatment, after the jump.

![Time To Mend [Heartbreak]](http://citypeoplefashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/150568.jpg)
Tokyo-based marketing firm Hime & Company allows its employees to take paid time off after a bad break-up, reports Reuters. And the older you are, the more time you’re allotted. CEO Miki Hiradate, whose company of six women markets cosmetics, says, “Not everyone needs to take maternity leave but with heartbreak, everyone needs time off, just like when you get sick.” Beats crying in the bathroom or huddled in your cubicle, that’s for sure. Hiradate also allows mornings off twice a year for shopping the sales, and is certain to be inundated with résumés. [Reuters]

Fashion at the SAG Awards this year was a bit of a yawn. There were very few (or argueably no) super impressive dresses. With the fewer number of award red carpets this year, one would imagine the actresses would put more effort into this ceremony, or that more actresses would have turned up. Nevertheless, here are some that I liked:
My favourite was surprisingly Kate Hudson’s dress. OK, so her hair is admittedly a bit werid (-it’s so shiny and sleek but it looks like something’s off about it,) but I love her dress! It’s so pretty and flowy-looking. Plus it’s got that graceful, bohemian feel to it.
Marcia Cross was gorgeous as usual. Her hair is so perfectly curled. And even though she’s wearing green again, that dress has got such gorgeous draping.
Not sure about that hairstyle on Eva Longoria, but this white, backless dress fits her amazingly, as usual. Not a particularly interesting dress though.
Normally I’m not a fan of Debra Messing’s red carpet outfits, but I thought she carried off this Oscar de la Renta dress well. I think it’s because the gold colour and those embellishment compliment her skin and hair colours well. But the point is, she’s looking great and sparkly!
Both Kate Beckingsale and Vanessa Williams wore yellow, but the effect turned out to be very different. Kate looked really elegant and lady-like; kind of Valentino-esque. Vanessa looked feirce -the power of Versace!
I’m not sure how to feel about Amanda Bynes’ outfit here. The dress is pretty and fits her well. And her hairstyle is very fun and elegant. But for some odd reasons, the dress kind of reminds me of American prom dresses, (a riduclously well-made prom dress of course.)
Michelle Pfeiffer’s outfit looks plain, but everything fits so well and match perfectly. Maybe it’s not the most interesting outfit around, but she looks fantastic. I can’t get over how she’s almost 50 years old!
Becki Newton’s white dress is my other favourite dress. I love how it’s got such a classy silhouette, but the tiered skirt bit gives it a much more youthful and stylish touch. Loves it!! Plus, I love her perfectly curled and styled hair! (And her Amanda smirk!) As for America Ferrera, I really think she could have done better. Grey and lacy dresses like that should be left for the more mature ladies.
To end this post, I chose this fun photo of Olivia Wilde. I actually really like that dress, and the cool tone matches her cool brunette hair so perfectly! That’s all for now. Hopefully Oscars will still happen and there will be more gorgeous dresses! Whose dress was your favourite? Image credits: http://justjared.buzznet.com, http://fadedyouthblog.com

Tocca is one of my all-time favorite candle brands…if you peek around my apartment you’re likely to find at least one Tocca candle in every room (even the kitchen), and probably a few in the cabinets, too.
Despite my loyalty to the brand, though, I managed to miss a few crucial new releases:

I always love the pumps that use two blocks of color to create a contrasting toe cap. And these Marc Jacobs Mary-Janes are no exception.
The slick dark red shoes are complemented with a cherry red toe cap. But what makes these shoes extremely unique is the silver strap and thick heel.
If you are looking for a very interesting Valentine’s Day shoe, these are a great choice. With a price tag of $595, you can find these right now at Net-A-Porter.com.
