Lumiere Fiber Optic Angled Blush Brush [Beauty Gizmo]

January 26th, 2008 by admin

Lumiere Fiber Optic Angled Blush Brush [Beauty Gizmo]

If the renowned MAC 187 brush is heaven sent for applying loose powder, mineral finishing powder, blush, and even creme blush, then, the Lumiere Fiber Optic Angled Blush Brush is heaven sent for the blush-savvy ones who want precise application of blush on their cheeks, perhaps to contour, highlight, or just give a hint of color to the cheeks.

The dual fibre material is perfect for both dry and liquid makeup, and I just love the fact that it is just heavenly soft! No complaints on how it feels on my skin, how it picks up pigments, and how it works well with liquid makeup - I mean with normal animal hair, the hair would clump together and the result would be a mess -with brushes dual fibre in make, they just help liquid makeup glide flawlessly and blend well.

A Love Letter To Bill Gates, And His Better Half [Love Them So, Always Will]

A Love Letter To Bill Gates, And His Better Half [Love Them So, Always Will]
Bill Gates is a great guy. Perhaps, in rabidly defending the market share of the Microsoft-Intel alliance, he stifled competition and innovation and squeezed vendors. Meh. You know where I am not really hurting from the terrible dearth of innovation? Software! Oh sure, this blogging software I am using drives me to suicidal thoughts every few minutes, but hello! Back in high school there was NO INTERNET. Meanwhile, my mom’s new car has the fuel economy of the Model T Ford. Meanwhile, the ENTIRE APPAREL INDUSTRY HAS YET TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO SEW A BUTTON. So anyway, my point is, Bill Gates is giving away all his money and Warren Buffet’s money, too, and I get to write about it today because yestederday he told us that he’s doing it for the us:

“If we are serious about ending extreme hunger and poverty around the world, we must be serious about transforming agriculture for small farmers, most of whom are women,” Gates said.

Friday’s Foundation Find: CoverGirl TRUblend. [Aging Fabulous]

January 26th, 2008 by admin

I am a makeup snob. I am. Especially when it comes to foundation and concealer. I know I am wrong to be this way, and that expensive does not always mean better.

My sister came over on Monday, and I looked at her and she was glowing. Her skin looked flawless, but not overly made up. Before I even had a chance to ask her, she exclaimed, “I used that CoverGirl TRUblend Liquid Foundation you gave me!”. I forgot that I gave her a bottle to try, but quickly remembered how a few of the shades were too light for me, so I passed those onto her. Thankfully, I still had two shades that looked like they were for me, and on Tuesday, I gave TRUblend my first try.

What Nots, Thingamabobs and Doodads [Pretty by Nature]

What Nots, Thingamabobs and Doodads [Pretty by Nature]
Let us keep it real for a moment, as the kids say. I am not into clothes or expensive jewelry. I just love skincare. Well… skincare and shoes. Actually, skincare, shoes and cheese. My husband once bought me a selection of about 15 different cheeses that I ate until I was sick. Which didn’t take long because I’m lactose intolerant but whatever. Not even midgets wrestling in my intestines can keep me away from cheese. Basically what I am trying to say is that the things that I like, I really like; to the point of excess. It’s something I am working on, but I’m a backslider.

One way I assuage my guilt is to try to recycle/reuse containers as much as possible. I found this recipe for making solid perfume that can easily be stored in a previously used lip balm or other small container. You can always make a big batch of homemade scrub or whatever and keep it in a re-purposed container. It’s a work in progress. Is there a place for people like me to get help? Maybe a skincare anonymous?
