Olatz’ pajamas

December 23rd, 2007 by admin

Olatz’ pajamas
She’s best known as a former model and the wife of artist and film director Julian Schnabel. But Olatz Schnabel also studied design in her native Spain and for the past seven years has been creating custom linens for private clients’ homes. Designing linens has been her hobby for a long time.
She began designing them for her own homes and then custom sets for friends who wanted them. Now with this store it’s possible to offer them to a wider range of customer. Olatz designs all the simple, mostly solid, thick-bordered cotton and linen patterns herself, in bold colors like lime green as well as more subdued yellows, blues and reds. Most are made in Italy, and some feature appliqué work that’s done in Portugal. Julian Schnabel seems to be her number one fan. He adores these pajamas and wears them all the time to promote his wife’s products.

“Do You Have Any Idea How Fucked You’d Be If Your Little Eurasian Kid Knew How Fucking Gorgeous She Is?” [Ask A Prisoner Of The Human Condition]

“Do You Have Any Idea How Fucked You’d Be If Your Little Eurasian Kid Knew How Fucking Gorgeous She Is?” [Ask A Prisoner Of The Human Condition]
We don’t often give parenting advice, but when a horrified reader sent us this image of the new “America’s Next Top Model” Barbie — essentially Barbie as told to Erin Fetherston and a few weeks of Master Cleanse — we thought we should weigh in on the concerns of a reader of the Washington Post’s “Family Almanac” advice column, the anxious mother of a Eurasian child with dreams of a past life in the Aryan Nation.

Q. My 6-year-old daughter is thriving in school, highly artistic and has lots of friends, as well as a strange idea. She stubbornly believes that blue-eyed blondes are the most beautiful people in the world.

The Urban Trail

December 23rd, 2007 by admin

A blogger’s shop trail is one that no one will probably know about save for fellow bloggers and readers. Due to the nature of blogging, it is such that one blog will write about what another blog wrote about and the chain grows longer and longer. Fashionologie first turned me onto The Urban Collection, the online vintage store, a while ago and even plugged them when Fashionologie was featured in Grazia. Then I couldn’t resist blah-ing about it. Then Queen Michelle discovered the delights that Dree (the owner of The Urban Collection) picks out. Now everyone is giving The Urban Collection some serious blog loving. What’s not to love? Regularly updated stock. Pieces that are contemporary looking and ‘pop’ at you. Quality checked. Sized so by and large not too much altering needs to be done. Sent to you with a personalised card. The only failing would be of course is that when an item displays that Sold sign, your heart sinks as you know that item is one of a kind and never to be seen again.
