Posh Spice’s Famous Chest Put To Rest? [Dirt Bag]

  • Did Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham have her implants removed??? [The Sun]
  • The new issue of Star alleges that Britney Spears has an X-rated “fantasy room” with tons of sex toys, a mirrored ceiling, and a closet full of “kinky” ensembles — including a schoolgirl outfit, a maid uniform and a Cinderella dress. More on that in Midweek Madness! [Rush & Molloy]
  • Mere days after being hired, Britney’s chauffeur quit. He says driving for Brit is a “liability.” Well, obvs! But seriously: Won’t someone please help? [TMZ]
  • Lindsay Lohan will start recording her third album soon, reportedly titled Nobody’s Angel. Is it because she’s contractually obligated? Or because she has so much free time on her hands, what with no movies to film? [Page Six]

  • Also, the new sober Lindsay has been “drinking a little bit,” but not doing drugs, according to a source. “As long as she isn’t doing drugs, she’s okay.” Relapse, anyone? [Gatecrasher]
  • Heath Ledger’s still on the prowl; recently he’s been seen flirting with Heather Graham and model Gemma Ward. Ladies! Just say no. [Page Six]
  • Kimora Lee Simmons was overheard telling a friend she invited her husband’s girlfriend to his birthday party to meet “major players” because she wants the “stupid bitch to get a clue.” Catfight! [Page Six]
  • The Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo romance was made possible by Jessica’s father, Joe, who never ceases to be creepy. [Page Six]
  • “I’m quite an opinionated tough girl,” singer Lily Allen says. “But then the minute I get into bed with somebody I turn into a little girl who needs cuddling and looking after. I’m really nauseating, basically.” Aw, we think that’s kinda normal! Don’t beat yourself up, Lil! [Page Six]
  • Blind item! “Which young actress and aspiring singer is just stringing along that hip-hop star, hoping he’ll write some hits for her?” [Gatecrasher, last item]
  • Paris Hilton was seen with pizzaboy/model Alex Vaggo for the first time since September. The pair went to the movies. [TMZ]
  • Usher and his wife Tameka had a baby boy on Monday night: Usher Raymond V was born in Atlanta. [People]
  • Angelina Jolie was nominated for an Independent Spirit award for her work in A Mighty Heart. Anyone ever see that? [ET]
  • Marie Osmond wants a Mormon in the White House, aka Mitt Romney. [MSNBC]
  • Pete Doherty has taken to meditating to cope with the stress of being on the road. Hey, it’s healthier than heroin! [Mirror]

Friends and Family Sale at Chronicle Books

We’ve learned more about the publishing industry from the lovely Galley Cat than we did, say, in school, or pretty much anywhere else for that matter, and yesterday they did us the extra-lovely turn of pointing us toward the ongoing—but only today! ends at midnight!—friends \ family sale at our excessively favorited Chronicle Books, which publishes basically every book we want to read \ own. Discount code = “friends” = 30%. Perfect for gifts for self, or others, if we must. Our top picks:

1. Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing, $24.95, with discount $17.46. Honestly we have wanted this for a billion years, give or take.

2. The Guerrila Art Kit, $24.95, with discount $17.46. Because if we’re not going to get all guerrila about our art, apparently no one on the world is going to miss it, etc. Vive la revolucion d’art! Etc.

3. 20th Century Pattern Design, was $35, with discount, $24.50. Because we are sure if we think about it really, really hard, we can totally be next Marimekko etc.

Crawling Back…

Two weeks and no posts, yikes! I’m afraid to even check my comments because I’m almost sure there are some mean ones in there (did I ever tell you that I get hate mail?). But anyway, here’s the deal: with the exception of the blissful 4-day Thanksgiving weekend, I have been working my little tail off! This happens every year, there’s always a rush to finish various major projects before the end of the calendar year. And let’s not forget the holiday shopping that’s been eating up whatever off hours I can get.

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. Just didn’t want you to think I was hanging out in a spa or anything. It’s actually quite the opposite; in fact, the only thing more embarrassing than the lack of posts lately is how my beauty routine has managed to derail itself in the absence of adequate time and resources.

I can’t wear anything more substantial than Essie Allure on my fingers because I can’t manage chips with a dark or opaque polish. I’m white as a sheet without my gradual tanners. I’ve broken one of my own cardinal rules of beauty and have been using a Philosophy 3-in-1 on my hair because I ran out of shampoo. I’ve been SLEEPING IN MY MAKEUP. And to top it all off, my roots are brutal.

The only thing I’ve been taking care of properly is the damn surgical scar on my arm, which gets daily pampering with silicone and/or polyurethane patches. Other than that, my entire beauty routine has gone to pot!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who falls into this mess on occasion. When your life goes into overdrive, what’s the first piece of your beauty routine that falls by the wayside? Commiserate with me here, and post it in the comments!

New Scent Obsession: Victoria’s Secret Supermodel [Teen Style Lounge]

Dang those “Rub wrist here to experience” inserts in catalogs and magazines! I was all set to award the new Usher fragrance the Top Spot on my Christmas Wish List…that is, until I had to go and smell this new Supermodel fragrance from my beloved Victoria’s Secret. Now, my whole plan has seen upheaval and I am rewriting my list as we speak.

But on the plus side, Supermodel is a bit cheaper than Usher, it comes in a handy dandy gift set with some shimmering stuff (always fun), and it will push me over the $100 requirement to get $15 off my order. Woot!

So, I guess it’s not all bad that I made my adjustment. Plus, my birthday is exactly 6 months away from Christmas, which means halfway through the year, I’m due for a new fragrance. Usher, you’re up next, babe.

So which scents are you hoping end up in your prezzie pile this holiday? Will you pick one out yourself or let someone do it for you? Are you buying a fragrance for someone else this year?

All Forms Of Alcohol Now Considered Beneficial [Burning The Scale]

The experts just can’t make up their minds, can they? It used to be that just red wine was good for you (in moderation of course) and considered heart-healthy. Beer and liquor were not associated with any health benefits.

Now it seems that alcohol of any form - whether it be liquor, wine, or beer - has health benefits when consumed in moderation (one drink a day on average, and less than 7 drinks a week).

Some of the benefits (from MSNBC) include:
-Raises “good” (HDL) cholesterol
-Regulates insulin
-Protects against rheumatoid arthritis
-Better than average health all around

Whether it hurts weight loss efforts is still unclear. I prefer abstaining during weight loss, but to each their own!
