We’re pretty sure whoever’s behind Cyber Monday is also behind, like, bad 7-11 promotions (not that we don’t love 7-11, but you know what we mean). Anyway, there are loads of not-totally-bad promotions out there today, so we thought we’d share: The Apple Store is giving free shipping on all their Gift Guide things. We are a little overly proud of over early adapter status on Apple, but we’ve been a little meh on the shops since we were accosted by perhaps the grumpiest motherfucker in all of Summit, NJ, last year, when we dared to check our email—our dot mac email, no less!—on one of the store computers, nevermind that that is like (a) their fucking business plan and (b) there was an unused, identical computer right next to us. (You can maybe tell that we’re still not over this.)

Gifts! Even nicer when they are purchased for the self. Maybe they are better described as treats. These are like cupcakes. But no annoying calories!
So apparently we’re feeling a bit ADD after the nine 20 oz. Diet Cokes we just drank, but we love these little reindeer—er, they’re calling them deer, but they seem perfectly Blixen-ized to us—and even more, the accompanying Xmas trees. Tiny, holiday-ish treats! Perfectly appropriate before all the real-deal gift-buying sets in.

Now that the holidays are in full swing (as evidenced by hearing ‘Christmas in Hollis’ for the first time this year), all our holiday memories come flooding back. What better time to enter our contest? We’ve already received some really amazing entries, but please continue to enter! Email us here! Please also indicate what hoodie color you’d most prefer. We’ve been wearing ours nonstop this weekend, and it’s kept us warm in the meat locker-like temperatures our family seems to thrive in. When we were in school, Champion was THE brand to wear; we distinctly remember having several pairs of shorts, a few tshirts, and a sweatshirt or two we absolutely loved. We had a friend who worked at the Champion store near our high school, and we would visit her and be so incredibly jealous. We, at the time, worked at Speedo and felt inferior.

That’s it - it’s been found. I will procure it with a beaming smug face. It will stay with me. It will travel with me. I will wear it to death. It will be my unopinionated, unbiased best friend. I will pass it on to whoever wants my rags when I leave this world.
It’s the investment come January 2008 that will leave me eating beans on toast for three weeks but seeing as I’m practically buying a lifetime companion, it’s a comparatively small price to pay.

Awesome new blog alert! I’d like to comment that while I adore this plus-size blog, I don’t speak French. However (and surprisingly), my Portuguese skills really came in handy when I was reading Les Modeuses Rondes. It’s a great French language blog that covers the best looks from a world of brands that I need to start checking out– So Spicy, Kiabi, Office Shoes, and Lady Luck Rules OK.
