Godeste Laura & Eau Vitaminée

Fikk enda en forsyning av Laura Montanas lipbalm i går, og denne gangen slo jeg like godt til på 2 stk i størrelsen større. Fantastisk god leppepomade, I tell you!

Uvant for meg å fornye parfymeflasker. Siden jeg har et ganske bra utvalg av dufter som jeg bytter på å bruke, blir det aldri til at jeg ser bunnen i noen av dem.

Shorts For Winter

The whole shorts + tights + ankle boots thing is a huge trend this season (a follow-up of the super-mini-shorts trend from the summer.) Some magazines even claim it’s the new mini-skirt, which I’m not too sure about but I’m a fan of mini-skirts much more than of shorts. Anyways, so I’ve seen a lot of girls in London wear this trend -at school, in the supermarket, shopping… While I can totally understand it’s a huge trend, I’m still amazed by how many ppl are wearing this combination. Why? Becuase dude, it’s cold out there. Like seriously cold. And with this look, it’s a very thin line between fashion victim and cute/ cool.
But if you really like this trend, then make sure you wear ‘dressy’ shorts. And you might want to stick to basic colours. Here are some that I like from Top Shop:
Checkered shorts -They’re casual and preppy. Plus I’ve always thought checked things look better in winter than summer.
Silky-like shorts -Silky-looking things always make the item look classy, expensive and perfect for a night out. Velvet shorts -These are also very wintery feeling and give off that going-out vibe. They’re very girly so they’re probably not suitable for everyone’s taste but if you’re a girly girl…
High-waisted shorts -While I could never pull off anything high-waisted, I’ve seen some Londoners try them on at Top Shop and they look really cool. Imagine these shorts with something as simple as a white T-shirt (tucked in) and platforms. Cool huh? (Although I think they’ll look better without tights.)
What are your thoughts on this trend? Have you been wearing it?

Celeb’s Fashion Style: Rachel Bilson

We all know beautiful actress of “The OC” FOX series, has always been shadowed by Mischa Barton fashion wise in and outside the show. It’s time to pay attention to her teen fashion style, because lately her aprearences are Her “Off Screen Style”, is more fun and creative. We can only guess that it reflects her personality more…
While Mischa Barton looks so glamorous on the red carpet, Rachel catches up when it comes to her daily style. Not even one of her paparazzi shot ever caught her on the wrong foot. Her and outfit always looking gorgeous and feminine in a quirky sort of way…

Also it’s hard to put the finger on her style, because she doesn’t stopped to a basic style, just the opposite she likes to combine styles (me 2) . Most of the time she can be seen wearing vintage clothes, following Kate Moss or Sienna Miller’s boho-chic style, celebs she looks up to
Her favorite designers are Chanel si Stella McCartney, but in the same time she saids that she loves to go to the thrift store and flea markets and dig through things for little pieces and vintage accessories.

That striped short blazer she wears over her long cami and jeans adds layers and pulls the outfit together to look casually chic. And the gorgeous billowing patterned skirt paired with a simple black top is definitely a hit-in a gypsy style.

When it comes to the red carpet…Rachel’s look is sophisticate opting for darker colors to accentuate her femininity, sometimes even glamorous. Bottom line her look is special and suits her. But I can’t help wondering who’s fault was when she came up with these frills.

What do you think about her style?

Toning down the Extreme

Extremity in shapes and pushing of forms is what Nicholas Kirkwood is known for and certainly, I can’t imagine a mass of girls teetering around the streets in these vertigo-inducing shoe/wedges, though I look forward to seeing put into a hyper-surreal context on the pages of glosses.  The elegant shoe wickedly propped up on a beautifully shaped (the curve at the heel, the tapering at the back….ah…)wedge of black mirror tiles really fits the mood of SS08, the idea of elegance that has gone a bit astray.

However, for us mere mortals who don’t have the super feet to handle that, for SS08, Kirkwood has stripped away the hidden platform shoe which has been so ‘on-trend’ (to use one of Mrs Fashion’s pet peeve phrases…) of the past few seasons and exposed the platform with an angular slant.

Whilst in black, the shape is more powerfully felt, the grey, mauve, white and even hot pink lessens the extreme and tones down the agressiveness.

So in short, next mission would be to procure them.  Easier said than done though…

South Beach Spice Bread Recipe [Burning The Scale]

Today I’d like to share a recipe I modified to make spice bread that I found over at Low Carb Friends. It’s made with a base of white beans and is Phase 1 friendly.

You need:
1 15oz. can of white (Northern) beans. Rinse and drain.
4 eggs (or egg beaters)
1 cup Davinci sugar-free Spice syrup or other flavored sugar-free syrup
1/4 cup dry milk (helps to make it rise)
2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. oil

Put all of the above ingredients in your food processor (a blender could work also) and blend until the mixture is liquid and thin (it only took about a minute in my food processor). Bake in a bread pan in the oven at 350 for 35-45 minutes.

When I made this, the bread was slightly moist coming out of the oven and I thought it wasn’t done, but after it sat out for awhile it firmed up nicely. Topped with some sugar-free whipped cream, it’s delicious!

Thanks to LCF member Nana Susie for this recipe.

CeCe Cashmere Wide Sleeve Sweater [Tops 2 Bottoms]

CeCe Black Cashmere Wide Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater

It’s the time of the year when wearing turtlenecks are acceptable. Helps you shield off the cold, yeah? But, of course, style-wise, it does project a very polished look. What I like about this piece I found in Bluefly is the sleeve detail, the rest are quite common. I already mentioned that one of the things you can watch out for this season is the sleeve detail in garments, right? I know this sweater doesn’t come off as a loud statement for outfits but I believe that it can be a good, solid base. Black is indeed safe but it’s still a colour that’s considered classy and chic. If you wear it with a snazzy pair of trousers, pants or skinnies, couple it with some tall boots or perhaps some booties, add a bit of colour like a yellow purse or a thin yellow belt then — voila! — a real trendy outfit complete with the sleeve detail. Of course, you can substitute a colour of your choice instead of yellow if you’re still not up to that just yet. You can touch it up with red or some grey, exotic prints or metallics, you’d still be in fashion.

Did you notice how many ideas you can come up with? That’s one of the reasons why black is such a classic choice.

The Rocker Chick Look [Tops 2 Bottoms]

I can’t say I aced the look but I gave it one hell of a try. I love the ensemble. I wish I had the accessories I have now so I could’ve worn it that day. Ah, well. There’s always next time, right? Lack of accessories or not, I still love it anyway.

I wore it to a Basketball final I watched over the weekend. I did a bit of trick on the Mango tunic, tied the hem in a knot, hid it inside the top, hence, making it shorter and look different. It looked like a totally different top (check how I styled it earlier to see the difference). The outfit’s a bit trendy since I used several elements that are hot right now like metallics, greys and bangles. I totally had fun putting this together.

Incidentally, this reminds me of the styling idea I picked up from Hot Mama Daily’s Pascalle. (So, what do you think of my outfit, Pascalle?) Hehe.
