Bag in your hand and cash in your wallet
Clutch, clutch. clutch, all I ever hear is clutches! Well, if like many slaves to fashion you want to keep up with the trends, and look great, but still have money to pay for life’s little things like rent, and cable then these bags are for you.
4 great clutches, all under $200, so you don’t have to spend too much time wondering how you’ll pay the Visa bill while the trend passes you by. All the bags are 40% off retail, and all are from Bluefly .
First up, from Hype, is a cute black patent wristlet.

No doubt this was inspired by Marc Jacobs’ signature look, but with it’s own twist. Proportionate details, with a perfect balance of hardware for a smaller bag makes this a real stand out. The gently rounded shape adds a softness to the harshness of the patent, and it seals with a zip. Best of all, the Hype Tessa is only $75.
Number 2, is from a bigger name as far as designers go.
In a shiny candy apple red cracked patent, the Stuart Weitzman Cala Clutch is a knock out. A great bag for anyone a bit afraid of color this bag, because of the small size, is a perfect way to get your feet wet. Try it on with chocolate brown or grey instead of your basic black.
The pleated body makes this bag a bit more feminine and it secures with a magnetic strap. This style is just $177…it really looks like so much more!
From indie darling Alexis Hudson this is a bit of a more casual envelope.
The shape is unique and designed to fit comfortably in your hand, but still give a drop more room (and in a clutch, every bit counts!) on the sides. In a super supple tan (called Brown Sugar) which has an almost worn in look. The bag looks like it closes with a complicated knotting of the tasseled cord, but that’s an illusion. It really shuts with a magnetic snap under the flap…where you’ll also find a fabulous bonus touch, an inset mirror. The Alexis Hudson Sky Clutch is a mere $150…and going fast!
If leather, patent or otherwise isn’t what you had in mind, try on some texture.
This bag does have leather trim, but the body is made of a soft alluring velvet. By all rights, it should be busy, with 2 kinds of quilting, grommets, lacing…oh my! But, it works. The Trina Turk Quilted Soho clutch can easily go 24 hours. pair it with jeans and a sweater for a casual look, or a flirty dress in the evening and you’re good to go. This bag comes in at $132, fantastic for a bag that doesn’t look like much else out there.
There you have it, 4 fabulous clutches at even more fabulous prices…just remember the electric bill before you splurge on 2!

Looking for Boots [ShoeBlitz - Shoe Fashions]
The best deals on boots are usually in the offseason (summer). But there are still a lot of great styles out there right now that are worth buying if you are looking for boots.
Here are some of my favorites this week.

Via Spiga Lerie Boots
These boots come in both brown and black (I prefer the brown). They feature very stylish straps and buckles on the sides that make them unique. These are available at Zappos.com for $302.95.

Sudini Stowe Boots
If you are looking for a shorter boot, these are terrific. I really love the removable faux fur collar. These black leather boots has a short (1 3/4″) stacked heel and feature a waterproof, breathable liner to keep your feet dry and healthy. They are $153.95 at Zappos.com.

Seychelles About Face Boots
These lace up boots have fabulous style. They feature a toe cap, frayed edges and lots of detailing. They come in black, olive and brown (again, I prefer the brown). These Seychelles boots are available for only $96.99 at Shoes.com.

The Lack of Presence
>> Quick note to say that though I was planning on toddling down to H&M Oxford Circus with a mild curiosity in what sort of a turnout the Roberto Cavalli for H&M collection would have and also a teensy-tiny interest in the clothes themselves…in the end, I have decided to forgo the ‘madness’ (or there lack of…) and stay cosied up in my office. Apologies if readers were expecting some reportage… I just really could not muster the enthusiasm…
Bring on Miu Miu for H&M… (yes I wish…)…

Interview with Celebrity Makeup Artist Anthea King
Anthea King’s love for fashion has led her to discover her other passion: makeup. Anthea has worked with celebrities like: Petra Nemkova, Christie Brinkley, Alicia Keys, Elizabeth Shue, and Carrie Underwood. In this interview find out what would be her dream makeup assignment and more. (via:www.beautyinterviews.com).
When did you decide to become a makeup artist?
I always loved makeup but didn’t realize in the small town I grew up in that make-up artists can work outside of department stores. My love for fashion started me out working at women’s fashion magazines. While on photo shoots, I realized the world of a freelance makeup artist.
What was your biggest break as a professional makeup artist?
My biggest break was definitely when I joined my agency, Artists by Timothy Priano. When I pursued my make-up career on my own, it took a lot of ambition and discipline. I worked for a year and half just building my book and keeping track of every person I met in the industry. I would have entire days devoted to contacting people and doing my own billing. Now that I am a part of Artists, I have more opportunities.
What have been some of your most memorable celebrity collaborations?
Recently I worked with Elizabeth Shue (Karate Kid, Cocktail) whom I though was so cool when I was a teenager. Also working with Christy Brinkley was one of those moments when I couldn’t believe it was really happening. I never imagined in my wildest dreams I’d be meeting and beautifying these faces I grew up admiring.
What are some of the makeup products every girl should carry in her purse?
Bigelow lip gloss, Dermalogica Mulivitamin Powerfirm, YSL Touche Eclat, Tarte Cheek Stain, Dior Show mascara, Giorgio Armani Foundation and Benefit Dallas Blush.
What city in the world do you find most inspirational?
I love Shanghai. I am half Chinese, half British and it is a bustling metropolis mixed with colonial elements. In many ways it reminds me of New York with all of the sophistication and amazing restaurants and shops yet at the same time it is very Eastern and exotic. Rachael Ray Foolishly Attempts Smackdown With Martha Stewart [Food Fight]
Do not fuck with Martha Stewart. Post-prison Martha will cut you. Or at least make your soufflé fall on purpose. If we were Rachael Ray, we’d start hiding out now. Ray, the annoyingly chirpy maker of 30-minute meals and head of her own Martha-esque media empire (Magazine? Check. Talk show? Check. Cook books? Check), has poached the publisher of Stewart’s Everyday Food to assume that same title at her namesake mag, Everyday with Rachael Ray. They are both fools: Do. Not. Cross. Martha. We now have images of Martha going all witches from Macbeth, standing over a cauldron, casting spells on the both of them. Also, what was former Martha-er, soon to be Ray-er Anne Balaban thinking? Isn’t going from working for Martha to working for Ray like going from working for Valentino corporate to stocking sweaters at Old Navy?
Martha, meanwhile, is sure to get the last laugh, because while Ray is clearly focused at present on solidfying her standing in print, Martha has moved on to conquering the Internet. Stewart is set to launch a site called Martha’s Circle (which so sounds like a gang, right?) [Or a place to go and sew? — Ed], which will be a network of blogs on all things Martha-ish. In other words, many possible topics! The woman is capable of discussing potting soil, Hermes handbags, baby lions at the zoo, and how to create the perfect dry spice rub — all in the course of a single episode on her TV show. And eventually, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia execs have suggested, Martha’s presence on the Internet will evolve into a “MySpace-like social network for women.” Just as we suspected, Martha shall soon rule the world! So maybe Rachael Ray stole a staffer. Martha rules the world.

Beauty Review: Get Winter Ready Skin With Bobe!
Bobe you ask? No, it’s not a typo. Bobe (pronounced beau-bee), is a fairly new Canadian bath and body line that has me swooning! The line was launched in 2006 by Marlese Sears, who has been so gracious to me. The story behind the name Bobe, an acronym for “beyond ordinary bath essentials”, is just adorable. It started out as a funny family memory of a misspelled pet name. Their pet fish was to be “Bobby” but was misspelled “Bobe” and the name has stuck with her ever since.
You’ll be tickled sweet with how many yummy scents her products come in. Bath and body products come in 50 scents and lip balms come in 70 scents! And would you believe that the products are made fresh at the time you place your order? That’s definitely beyond ordinary. What’s also beyond ordinary is that every month Bobe gives 5% of retail sales to a different charity!

I was excited when I received Bobe’s Silken Cream in “Chai Tea Party, the Sugared Frosting Scrub in “Raspberry Lemonade” and Bobe Lip Balm in “Vanilla Soft Serve”. I am a sucker for scented products and when I took a sniff of each I was amazed that they smelled exactly like its name! The Sugared Frosting ($8 CAD) is literally like rubbing sugar all over your body. Now that it’s getting colder out and my skin is getting dryer, the scrub has been the best remedy. My skin is left feeling velvety soft. The smell of raspberry lemonade is intoxicating in a good way of course. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the scent when I first saw it but as soon as I opened the lid my mouth watered. Ok, what I’m about to admit is embarrassing but I’ve been known to do this. I took a little taste! It actually tasted pretty edible!

I don’t think I’ve ever come across a chai scented body product and I was pleasantly surprised. The Silken Cream ($8 CAD) is soooo moisturizing and left my skin silky smooth and not greasy. It’s a definite must for the winter season. The scent isn’t overpowering but you can definitely smell the chai (although my husband thinks it smells like pumpkin).

I love anything vanilla scented so when I received the “Vanilla Soft Served” lip balm I was as giddy as a school girl! The scent is amazing and most of the time I find myself licking it off. It’s pretty moisturizing but because I have really dry lips I find I have to keep reapplying every few minutes or so. Yah, my lips are that dry especially in the winter. It doesn’t leave my lips as moisturized as my Rosebud Salve or Murad’s Soothing Lip Therapy. But the heavenly scent is just too hard to resist that I don’t mind reapplying! And at $3.75 (CAD) a pop you might as well buy all the scents!
*Tip: I buy a soft bristle tooth brush just for exfoliating the dead skin off my lips. Dampen the brush with warm water and exfoliate in a circular motion.
I’m really excited about this brand and I think it will have a strong following of scented bath and body fiends like me. It’s Canadian, inexpensive, is beyond ordinary, unbelievable quality, gives back to the community, and has every scent you can think of! My kind of product. Oh, and Bobe has even adjusted it’s Canadian price to reflect the value of our Looney! Next on my want list: Soy Fabulous Whipped Body Butter in “Frosted Sugar Cookie”, Sugared Frosting Scrub in “Cupcake”, and Lip Balm in “Carnival Candy Apple”. So scrub up, slather away, and tantalize your senses with its yummy scents this winter season and any season! Happy shopping!

Roberto Cavalli at H&M
Whenever I think of Roberto Cavalli, I think of animal prints, lacy tops, corsets, tight and glittery clothes and Victoria Beckham -all glamorously tasteless. Obviously I am not a fan of Roberto Cavalli. I don’t care that his recent collection has improved a bit. The Cavalli style imprinted in my brain is still negative.
First off, you will notice that practically the whole collection is made of animal prints. There are leopard prints (in 2 different shades) and zebra prints. Talk about animal-prints overload! I can’t believe he even put the prints on trousers!
Black and white animal-printed mini-dresses. I can’t decide if these dresses are fun and crazy-looking, or just tacky.
The only thing I remotely consider decent is this sweater dress. The things that I am interested in are the accessories, especially now that it’s party season.
This braclet looks really pretty in the photo. I wonder if it will look that pretty in real life.
Another thing I’m interested in (as inspired by Mary Kate Olsen) is this cocktail ring. So that’s it. Anyways, just because Roberto Cavalli isn’t my style, it doesn’t mean that other people won’t be anticipating the H&M collection. Look out for any craziness. The collection hits stores Nov 8th -that’s tomorrow!

Bunnyshop Hearts: AA Vintage Eyewear

In today’s Bunnyshop Hearts:
Dear BS:
I know you think American Apparel is totally pervy, and it is, but aren’t these eyeglasses cool? I love them.
XO,
G.
WWE do, in fact, think AA is totally pervy. We do, however, wear much of their clothing, so so much for putting our money where are morals are. (This was amply demonstrated last week, when we tried to make our friend K. shop at Walmart, where she steadfastly refused to do.) Anyway: We like these alright. But just alright. We sort of prefer their vintage sunglasses collection. They are a bit hipster-ish to us. Here is another, more hipster-ish view:

She looks quite happy, but we don’t quite trust them. Above: AA’s unisex Vue eyeglasses, $50

We are pro-unisex frames, though. When we get our glasses replaced, after seven years of abusing our old pair, we are getting these, which are amazingly Daniel Liebeskind-esque, and we could not be more excited about them. Miracle of miracles, they were also one of the cheapest frames the store carries. Specsavers plastic frames, about $80
