A new biography of Abraham Lincoln claims that he visited a whore once, but declined her services rather than use them on credit. Things have certainly changed in 150 years — prostitution is still okay, apparently, but now plenty of men have no trouble putting it on a credit card. Huzzah for the American consumerist culture!
