We do not like to run. Ever since we were small, and made fun off HORRIBLY by a girl we have continued to actively dislike since 4th grade. It makes our lungs hurt - the running, not the disliking; our knees cry, and our motivation just kind of craps out after, like, a week.
Enter the NYC Road Runners Complete Book of Running and Fitness. Despite having a rather lengthy title, it’s actually a good book. Someone in our family actively enjoys running - she’s run marathons in places we’ve never even been to. She bought us this book - rather, she accompanied us while we bought this book, highlighted important sections, and told us to get a move on.
So today, we did. It was our first day back on the treadmill, and despite almost throwing up (from choking on toothpaste), our commute being double what it should’ve been, forgetting our headphones, almost falling off the treadmill (trying to change the channel on the tv) and then accidentally asking the man in our work cafe if he thought we were hot, it was a good morning!
We actually feel GOOD. We are not sluggish or starving or terribly pained. We’re going to keep it up, and in 52 weeks, we’re going to run a marathon in Disney World or something.

Cavalli for H&M
For en stund siden ble jeg kontaktet av en journaliststudent angående designersamarbeidene som H&M har hatt i flere år nå, og hun lurte på om jeg hadde noen synspunkter på det. Jeg fortalte henne at for meg var de to første årene spennende, men etter at “annenhver” kleskjede/kjendis gjorde kolleksjoner med designere mistet det sin glans i mine øyne. Nå er det Roberto Cavalli sin tur for H&M. Tok en kikk på kolleksjonen han har gjort for dem, og det var slettes ikke så dårlig, bedre enn Viktor & Rolf sin H&M-kolleksjon i fjor synes jeg. Man må like dyretrykk, Cavalli er kjent for dem, og når vi har en kommende Afrika-trend neste år synes jeg temaet passer perfekt. Flere godbiter her altså, og pluss i margen for masse tilbehør og ikke minst lekre sko. Der har de andre designerne for H&M vært svake.
Denne har jeg ikke brukt mer enn en gang… Jeg kommer nok ikke til å kjøpe noe fra H&M`sitt samarbeide i år, selv om det som sagt var en del brukbart der.

Golden Crystal Technology’s KI-T12 didn’t quite make the cut for the infamous keepin’ it real fake list, but even though it’s not a straight-up rip, there’s no denying the similitude. Interestingly enough, this isn’t even the first time we’ve seen a gizmo take a note from Nokia’s 7260, but this particular copycat simply handles DMV, MP3, MPX and WMA formats, features a wee 1.5-inch color display and includes a built-in FM tuner to boot. Furthermore, you’ll find six equalizer presets, your own electronic pet game (Tamagotchi, reincarnated!) and a text viewer. Per usual, you’ll have to send in an inquiry to find out how much these things run, but honestly, why would you want to do that?

It has the restorative, antibacterial properties of sugar, acts as a great exfoliant and the promise of a scent to die for. I surely hope it’s not a scent you’ll die of. Heh. Sorry, just reminded of the scent of the raw, unprocessed sugar. Brings me to think that perhaps after driving through that plantation, taking a bath with this body polish will help take away the foul smell and leave the best sugary sweet scent on my skin instead.

We Wish Celebrity Variety Shows Would Come Back In Style [Clips]

Apparently Lynda Carter had a variety show in like ‘79 or ‘80. Above is a clip from it in which she sings “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” by Kiss. What’s confusing is that we can’t really tell if that’s actually Kiss dancing with her or guys that just are made up to look like Kiss. Either way, Bob Mackie had to have designed these costumes. If you thought that the chest-baring leather outfits and platform shoes didn’t make Kiss look gay enough, wait till you see them bedecked in multicolored feathers, doing Fosse-like moves. Props to Rich for supplying the clip.

A lobbyist friend writes me: “So I’m in a southern GOP office (where pretty women, skirts, heels, etc. are still the norm) with a few of my clients. Now, most of the guys I represent are salt of the earth, hard working folk. However, on this particular day, “Earl” decides he’s gonna venture off-script, talk shit about the Member, and flat-out hit on the smoking, damn-near-burnt-my-retinas-cuz-I-looked- at-her-too-closely hot staffer. I corralled him, like a good lobbyist, about a dozen times, steered the conversation back to the topic at hand and got the other clients to talk. Finally, we get up to leave and Earl is sporting wood. No, I’m sorry, Earl is sporting log. The boy is blessed and not just with being a consummate jackass, and not afraid to show it. As he goes in for the hug - yup, a hug - I step in and thank her for her time. Any idea what to do next?”
