Instant Gorge
I’m not sure about you, but when you see a cover like this, don’t you just want to engross yourself in it pronto? The December 2007 issue of i-D features an almost unrecognisable Cate Blanchett save for that steely lazy eye glazed look. I can’t say anything more interesting than the cover itself other than it’s a visual delicacy that I can’t wait to delve into.
Note to self: Really must get therapy to deal with my equating food with fashion…

Things That Calm Us
We do not have a stressful job. We are not brain surgeons, or rocket scientists, or teachers. We’re not even working in an environment where deadlines exist. Yet, remarkably, we get stressed out while at work.
Perhaps this is because our cubby mate, the Sleeper, astounds us and makes us tense. Yesterday, he honestly asked if we were off for Halloween. The day before, he asked us how, if we have items shipped here, does the mailroom know it’s for us? Yesterday, he also asked us how it was outside when we went to lunch - which was odd because we hadn’t left our desk for more than 10 minutes, save for a meeting.
He then packed up his things, as is customary at 4:30; having worked a very full 6 hour day. Without calling us to let us know he was two hours late. But normally he comes in so late in the day, that 2 hours normal-time is like 15 minutes Sleeper-time.
This stresses us out a lot. We could go on for days about how he makes our eye twitch, but we’ve found that paging through sale sections on websites is actually quite distracting and calming.
Today, as he blindly sent us an email that literally had 6 numbers in it - with no explanation what it was he needed, or what the numbers even were - we opened ShopBop and looked at sale. We couldn’t deal with random numbers for information that isn’t ours, we don’t have access to, and we don’t worry about
Much to our surprise, among the bikinis, white pants, and espadrilles were these really cute Earnest Sewn jeans! Excellent! We love jeans on sale!
They come in nice washes! And most sizes! And bootcut! We love you, and thank you, pretty jeans for chilling us out.

How-To : Blazer With Jeans [She Knows Best - Lifestyle Tips for Guys]
So now that you’ve learned that you must absolutely have a navy blue blazer, you’d want to learn how to pull it off with jeans. The blazer with jeans combo is pretty much considered a 21st-century classic. A lot of male celebrities have pulled this off quite successfuly. Well some of them anyway. Justin Timberlake is one of them. He epitomizes the blazer and jeans look, in my opinion. Due to this, you might feel you must as well embrace it and pull it off yourself. From the subtle approach to the bold one, you can’t go wrong. Unless you missed this post
BEGINNER:
A blazer over a collared shirt with jeans and loafers or sneakers is a good way to start.
INTERMEDIATE:
Spruce up a navy blue blazer by wearing a gingham-check shirt. For texture, add a knit-tie. Wear a dark wash jeans for an added contrast.
ADVANCED
Go bold by opting for a velvet-corduroy blazer with moleskin pants and suede loafers. Texture, texture, texture, texture. That’s how a well-dressed man does it

Daisy, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Perfume
I’m not a big perfume lover. I spray perfume maybe 10 times a year, usually for nights out. But like most girls, I can’t resist browsing at the ever-interesting perfume bottles and sniff all the new scents. There are so many scents that I like, but because of this, I can’t possibly buy all the scents I ‘like’. Out of all the scents, there’s one scent that has grown on me and I have fond memories of, the Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum. And I’ve been meaning to buy a bottle for awhile, but I’ve been slightly hesistant becaues I wasn’t sure if the flowery smell was too strong for me to wear for too long of a time so I never got around to buying it.
I was excited when I saw the new ads of Daisy, the Marc by Marc Jacobs scent, in Teen Vogue. It’s got that sweet, non-chalent The first time I smelt it, it smelled like any other perfume out there in the market. But at the encouragement of the Marc salesgirls (who told me not to buy the Marc Jacobs perfume but try Daisy instead,) I sprayed both scents onto perfume paper and brought them home to smell for a day. (The salesgirls also told me that their first shipment at the Hong Kong store soldout in 3 days!)
After smelling both scents at least once an hour, I’ve decided that on the surface, Daisy smelt only like a light, fruity, flowery scent. But later on, the scent smelt musky and most importantly, of Gardenia, the signature scent of the Marc Jacobs perfume. (Yes, I know I think too much before buying things.) According to the Daisy site, Daisy’s notes include strawberry, ruby red grapefruit, violet leaves, gardenia, violet leaves, jasmine petals, musk, vanilla and white woods. Not exactly what I smelt, but close enough. And surprisingly, since I’ve bought it two weeks ago, I’ve already used it 4 times. Perhaps the reason I haven’t been using much perfume before was that I haven’t found my right one yet?
What do you think of Daisy? Isn’t the bottle simply adorable? Has anyone smelt it or bought it yet?

Bunnyshop Hearts: The Mongol Rally

So we are going to stop talking about our summer adventure just about now, and even our little Donate Cow over there will be going into the metaphorical, electronic dustbin, but! We could not recommend anything more highly, and this year’s sign-ups are happening tomorrow—that’s Halloween—at 9 a.m. ET. At least we think it is. It’s 14:00 GMT. Everything’s all weird with Daylight Savings Time. Anyway: If anyone is thinking about doing it … we will say that we seriously wavered, and we were thisclose to not doing it, not least because we thought we had a job we were very excited about. Needless to say, they blew us off, we remained underemployed, and we have nice pictures of Mongolia instead of a retirement package. We still prefer the former. (We are not entirely confident what our position on this will be in about 40 years.)
Anyone thinking about doing it—and we have been short on details: It’s a four-week drive in a tiny little car from London to Mongolia, however you choose to go, in very short—and it was fucking awesome as anything. And we will also say that if we were in a position to be looking for a smart, hot, funny, single person to talk to, and we were a heterosexual woman (or, now that we think about it, a gay man), this is the world’s top concentration of them. We’re convinced.
All the details are here.
